Back pain affects over 80% of adults. Yet very few of you know simple things you can do to help ease or even stop it.
Have you noticed
that while you have back pain, there are many things that aggravate it and stop you enjoying many activities? I'll give you an example...
I was at a sporting
even the other day with a friend. We were standing in a crowded area and my friend was constantly fidgeting. He was moving around like he had ants in his
pants.
I asked him what he was doing and he said he "was trying to get comfortable". What he meant was that by standing in one spot his back was
becoming more and more painful. It was getting to the point that he wasn't even concentrating on the sport we love dearly. He was also making me enjoy it
less!
So I gave him a simple task to do that would stop him fidgeting, make his back pain disappear and allow us both to continue to enjoy the
game.
As with most sporting events we go to, we take a jacket or coat in case the weather turns bad. But in fact you could take any object for
this...
I made my friend roll up his jacket and place it on the ground. Then I instructed him to put one foot on the jacket with the other still flat on the ground.
Then said to stand comfortably. After about 20 minutes I said he should change over so that the other foot was on the jacket and keep doing that. He actually
said...
"What are you doing, I'm trying to watch the game".
I actually felt like smacking him around the head, after all it was him that caused all
this to start with. But what he had noticed (which he told me after the game had finished) was that his back pain had not bothered him at all. He could finally enjoy
the game without feeling uncomfortable all the time.
We now will be going to more games I expect, because it is always Paul that has said "lets watch it on
TV", I suspect because he doesn't want to tell me his back has been too sore. Hopefully he will listen to me more and actually do some techniques I can show him to
get rid of his back pain once and for all.
So what does standing on a jacket do?
By raising one leg, you actually change the posture of your
lower back. It eases the tension for up to 30 minutes or more. You actually end up placing your weight on your thighs. This can be done anywhere and with
anything.
If you stand all day at work, in retail for example, you can place a block of wood, the phone book or anything else on the ground and do the same.
Nobody can see you do it and you will find at the end of the day you will be without back pain.
A simple technique that works. There are numerous things
you can do to ease your back pain. There are also numerous techniques and exercises that remove your back pain so you don't need to do these tips at
all.
Back pain affects over 80% of adults; you do not need to be one of those statistics. You can actually remove your back pain and prevent it returning with
simple and effective techniques.
